Go therefore and make disciples of all nations
Matthew 28:19
At Friendship Baptist Church, we are committed to being an Acts 1:8 church—taking the gospel across the street and around the world. Jesus has called us to be His witnesses in our communities, our nation, and to the ends of the earth, and we are intentional about living out that calling.
Our Missions Ministry exists to mobilize people to go, serve, and share the hope of Christ wherever God leads. From local outreach in our own neighborhoods to national partnerships and international mission trips, we are always looking for opportunities to engage people with the gospel through both word and action.
We believe missions is not just something we support—it’s something we do. Whether it’s serving those in need, building relationships, or having gospel conversations, every member has a role to play.
As we move forward, our vision is to be a church that doesn’t just gather, but goes—reaching people with the love of Christ, making disciples, and impacting lives for eternity both here at home and around the world.

Serve the Kingdom on our upcoming mission trip to [Anchorage, Alaska]
This summer, we have the incredible opportunity to partner with GraceWorks Alaska in Anchorage, Alaska. Together, we will be serving in diverse, multi-ethnic communities where people from many backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences call home.
We believe the Great Commission is not simply a call for the world to come to the Church—but for the Church to go to the world. That conviction shapes everything about this mission. We are not waiting for people to walk through church doors; we are intentionally stepping into neighborhoods, parks, and gathering places to meet people right where they are.
Throughout the week, our team will look for practical ways to serve in the name of Christ—whether through children’s ministry, community outreach, acts of kindness, or relational connection. But beyond meeting physical needs, our greatest desire is to engage in meaningful gospel conversations, sharing the hope, truth, and love of Jesus with those who may have never truly heard.
Alaska is often recognized as the least church-attending state in the United States, making it a great mission field. This reality compels us. It reminds us that there are still many who are far from God and in need of the transforming power of the gospel.
GraceWorks vision is simple but urgent: to take the Church to where the people are. Through our partnership with GraceWorks, we are joining in a larger movement of faithfully reaching the lost, building relationships, and planting seeds of hope that we trust God will grow.
We are excited to be part of what God is already doing in Alaska—and we ask you to pray with us that lives will be changed for eternity.
